Referral Program

The Ten Eyck Group has been in business since 1905. We are a business built on relationships. It is our mission to put our clients first, always do right by them and never lose our sense of purpose. Our purpose is to help people in need. Loss can be devastating and we take it personally because it’s why we are here. We are here to help you plan, prevent and protect all that you hold dear. If and when the unspeakable happens, we will be there to help you pick up the pieces and rebuild your world. The right insurance is key and the right agent can make all the difference in the world. At the Ten Eyck Group, we pride ourselves on our talents, experience and purpose.

Winston Churchill said, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." In 2021, we aim to make a greater difference in the communities that surround us. Therefore, we have created a Referral Reward Initiative to collaborate with you, our clients. For every person you refer to us, we will give $10 (in recognition of you) to our charity of the quarter.

Our staff has voted and our most popular charities for 2021 are as follows:

1st Quarter: Anxiety and Depression Association of America

2nd Quarter: Unity House of Troy, Inc.

3rd Quarter: Better Community Neighborhoods, Inc.

4th Quarter: Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York

Together, we can make a greater impact to help those in need. Thank you for being a part of who we are!

TEG Scholarship

For the first time in our 116-year history, we have created the Ten Eyck Group Insurance Scholarship. In 2021, we made this scholarship available at the Guilderland and Voorheesville High Schools. In the photo shared, Noah Manzella is seen with Principal Michael Piscitelli at the Guilderland High School receiving his scholarship.

SCM Donation

Just a small sampling of items collected to benefit the guests of the Schenectady City Mission. Last month, staff gathered clothing, toys, books, games and household items to donate to the mission.

Sadly, too many have been negatively affected by the pandemic. We hoped that a little sharing of ourselves and these items with could help bring some joy and comfort to those who need a helping hand.

Fisher HouseClynk Drop And Go

Continuing our challenge to gather and recycle bottles and cans. This act of recycling is done to benefit our 2021 Change Matters recipient; the Fisher House Foundation. In addition to recycling, we proudly display a coin drop on our front counter (even better now that people are coming into the office), to remind folks that "If they don't like change, leave it here" to benefit this worthy cause.

Anxiety and Depression Association of America

We sincerely appreciate your trust and confidence when you refer us to your friends, family and business associates. In the most recent quarter, we earned 29 referrals making a donation of $290 possible to benefit the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.

Ronald McDonald House CharitiesPop It And Drop It

In addition to our recycling efforts, we save the tabs for another charity that is near and dear to our hearts; The Ronald McDonald House. It may not seem like much but every action has a reaction. Make it a positive one!

"At the end of the day, it's not about what you have or even what you've accomplished. It's about who you've lifted up, who you've made better. It is about what you have given back." – Denzel Washington

Schenectady City Mission

We believe that change, even just a little bit, will make a different in the lives of those who need it most. In 2020, we recycled 4,658 bottles & cans and proudly donated the proceeds of $232.90 to the Schenectady City Mission in honor of our 2020 Change Matters campaign. A huge thank you to our caring team to share and recycle for this worthy cause. Together, we strive to live the Schenectady Mission's mission of providing Help, inspiring Hope and Transforming lives.

Anxiety

We appreciate your referrals and believe in our slogan "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." For every person referred to us that resulted in a quote during this first quarter, we will donate $10 in recognition of you, to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. The ADAA is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing assistance, guidance, and treatment to those who struggle with anxiety and depression. Thank you for helping us help the ADAA and all those who need their help. You are not alone.

Fisher House

Promoting our Change Matters initiative encouraging staff and all our friends to donate spare change and bottle return proceeds to prove that any amount of change really does matter. We proudly announced our 2021 Change Matters recipient as the Albany Fisher House Foundation who opens their home to families of Veterans who need their help during a stressful time in their life. Help us help them in any way you can or find a cause of your own and share some hope. Our world needs it.

Simple Gestures

Simple Gestures of Giving in appreciation for their sacrifice. Simple Gestures of Giving for their care and our concern. Simple Gestures to help fill the Fisher House with a little more love and hope. We provided much-needed items to the Fisher House, keeping our veterans and those who care and support them in your thoughts, prayers and in your everyday actions. For more information, please visit U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

We hope that we made someone's day just a little bit better by reminding them of our gratitude, respect, care and concern. Lead the charge and be selfless, our world needs you.

Capital Disttrict Humane Association

We always appreciate the confidence that you place in us when you refer friends, family and businesses to us. We've made a promise that for every referral resulting in a quote, we would donate $10 in honor of you to our Referral Rewards recipient of the quarter. Thanks to you, we made a donation of $320 to the Capital District Humane Association for our love of animals. Thank you for being a part of who we are!

Food Bank Donation

We added a little more to our shopping carts and gathered donations to benefit the guests of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. Food has a wonderful way of bringing people together and during the pandemic, that gesture had a dual meaning. With the greatest appreciation to our staff and food pantries everywhere, we hope that your table is always full, that you are always grateful for what you have and that you always have enough to share. #bethankful

Adopt-An-Angel 2020

A huge thank you to our caring work family for purchasing gifts for the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce Adopt-An-Angel program to benefit students of our local school district. Life might not always be the way we want it to be but there is always #hope. Please pass it on.

Clynk

Let's hear it for Change! We've collected another $14.10, and also recycled another 796 cans & bottles (adding an additional $39.80) for our Change Matters campaign to benefit the City Mission of Schenectady. That brought our year to date collection to $149.35 by recycling 1160 can/bottles. Together, #wecanbethechange

Fisher House Facts

It is with great honor that we share our Caring for Community initiative to benefit the Fisher House Foundation and those they serve. Since COVID prevents us from providing them a home cooked meal, we have been purchasing items of need - paper products, soap & disinfectant wipes and individually packaged snacks or meals. A huge thank you to our work family for keeping the Fisher House in our thoughts all year long.

Help us by filing their house with even more love by dropping off items here at our office or by visiting their website. Thank you for sharing hope.

Leukemia PatientBlood Cancer Patients Need Us

We would like to thank clients for their referrals . We sincerely appreciate their confidence in us to always do right by them, their friends and family. It is because of them that we were able to make a donation of $290 to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Upstate New York/Vermont Chapter, and we can't thank them enough! #makeadifference

Ten Eyck Group volunteering prepping meals at Ronald McDonald House

Prior to the onset of the Pandemic, we had the opportunity to prepare a full dinner to our friends at the Ronald McDonald House Charity! It's unimaginable the heartache and stress these families are under. In some small way, we hope the benefit of enjoying a home cooked meal will ease the burden, if, but for an hour or so.

Reusable bags with the Ten Eyck Group logo on them

In March 2020, New York State banned the use of plastic bags. We've since purchased and distributed reusable bags to help our planet and to help minimize our clients' and employees' costs of purchasing bags elsewhere.

Piles of clothes in boxes

In addition to making a monetary donation as part of our Referral Rewards campaign, we have been busy purchasing essentials and clothing for guests of the Albany Housing Coalition for Veterans Housing and Services.

Change Matters

We believe that change, even just a little bit, will make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Each year, we choose a local charity to benefit by donations made through a coin drop and bottle recycling initiative. It was a campaign that started three years ago to demonstrate that Change, literally and figuratively, can make a difference. We are proud to announce that our staff has chosen the Schenectady City Mission to be the recipient for our 2020 Change Matters campaign.

The Mission's goal is to provide not only Help for today, but Hope for tomorrow. We want to help people who are in need right now by meeting basic needs like food, shelter and clothing. Providing these life essentials are at the core of who they are.

To raise awareness to their mission and ours, we have displayed a coin jar with the mission's logo on the front counter at our office at 1924 Western Avenue, Albany, New York. We created an account with Clynk at Hannaford in Guilderland for staff to return bottles whereas donations are held in account in the mission's honor. At the conclusion of 2020, the Schenectady City Mission will receive 100% of the donations made to our Change Matters campaign.

Mahatma Gandhi said "You must be the change that you wish to see in the world." We pledge to do our part and be part of that change - our world needs it. Please help our cause by sharing your "change", bottle returns and Hope for a better tomorrow for everyone.

CityMission

We recently delivered our team's collected goods to the City Mission of Schenectady as part of our Change Matters campaign. We shared from the heart hoping that our actions create a ripple effect to give selflessly. During our efforts throughout the year, we try to live the Mission's goal "Provide help for today and hope for tomorrow." We at Ten Eyck Group are proud of who we are and what we do.
