Claims Reporting and Loss Control

CLAIMS MANAGEMENT

The real value of an insurance contract is determined after a loss occurs. Our claims department will assist you in preparing, processing, and expediating the payment of your claims.

The Ten Eyck Group staffs a separate claims department trained in understanding coverage issues and specializing in contract interpretation. Understanding the policy terms and various "claims-triggers" in a variety of contracts can be an overwhelming exercise. In order to represent your interests to the highest level, our staff is dedicated to maintaining contact with you and the carrier throughout the claims process.  

In addition, we will review loss reserves and work with the carrier to get them reduced where possible. An overstated loss reserve can result in a much higher premium.     

Along with 24 hour emergency calling, we retain a network of skilled insurance professionals specifically trained to ensure that your losses are handled in an efficient manner.    

 

LOSS CONTROL SERVICES

As insurance professionals, the agents and brokers of the Ten Eyck Group have extensive backgrounds in the science of loss control and claims mitigation. It is our mission to educate our clients in the various methods of minimizing and containing risk through the utilization of sound risk management techniques. 

Our agents and brokers work with clients in developing a culture where safety and loss prevention become an integral part of both your business and personal management philosophy. Our staff will arrange safety seminars where appropriate and will guide you through the myriad of tools available in combating loss.    

In most cases, we would encourage you to make us the first call in the event of a loss. Often we can provide assistance before the carrier's assigned adjusters are deployed.

We will direct and advise you based upon the severity of the loss. Our dedicated line for emergency claims (Bodily Injury, Property Damage) which occur after business hours is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Non-life threatening claims may be reported to us during business hours or in most cases can be phoned in directly to the carrier, per instructions mailed with your policy.
